Hi everyone! Here is a My Balanced Chef Update for summer 2018.  It has been a while since I’ve posted on my blog here. Things have been crazy, I mean REALLY wild. I quit my day job and bought a couple of puppy’s. Literally. (I had been waitressing since I finished school in 2014 and decided it was time to take the leap full time into Balanced Chef.)

 

I am pleased to introduce Wilma the Wheaten and George the Yorkie.

 

I have been spending my Summer practicing what I preach. As much as I love working, love “My Balanced Chef” and am so wanting to take this business to the next level, I am making sure that I am taking care of myself.

I am spending time with my loved ones, getting enough rest and investing in myself in positive ways that keep me aligned with my ultimate goal of making all of your lives healthier, happier and easier.

This has always been my goal with My Balanced Chef, to encourage the same kind of self-serving behavior so that you too can lead a fulfilled life. I believe this business is so much more than just serving meals, I hope to make an impact in all of my customer’s lives for the better.

 

 

Branching Out

Business has been changing, I began cooking for a family who has very specific dietary needs at the beginning of June. I received the family’s request after they decided it was time to put their health and nutrition first.

 

The mom of the household was diagnosed with  Common Variable Immune Deficiency and Evan’s Syndrome. With CVID it is common to have inflammation as a side effect, especially in the digestive tract.

 

As you could imagine it is hard for her to eat and keep down and absorb foods so that she can stay healthy and keep fighting the disease.

 

She has a whole host of allergies as well, including – rice, potatoes, oats, dairy, wheat, and soy which contribute to her inflammation. She has courageously battled extreme skin irritation, extreme weight fluctuation, and even complete hair loss.

 

The family hired me on so she could focus on getting her better, and receive the nutritious foods she needs to heal. They are taking accountability for their lives, creating a healthy lifestyle so they can become stronger and healthier, and so they can be good role models for their young daughter.

 

It has been a wonderful experience, I am so lucky to get to exercise my creativity, expand my culinary abilities and nutrition, and spend time with some of the loveliest people I’ve ever met.

I’m trying to get on social media more to provide you guys with videos, nutrition, fully prepared meals, and kitchen hacks and healthy motivating reminders.

I have teamed up with another mom, and we have been thinking about coming out with a line of meal-prep lunchtime solutions for the school year.
